Where vision still breathes

In Beneath the Broken Sky, I tried to capture what so many of us carry silently: the ache of loss, the

cost of courage, and the quiet hope that dares to bloom. The book is woven from a love that refuses to be extinguished, and from a belief in the tenderness of human connection—even in the harshest places.

And today, as we face a world that often feels broken in both new and familiar ways, I return to the heart of this story.

It is not just fiction.

It is a prayer.

It is a remembering.

This piece—“This Day Will Come”—is a tribute to all those who have stood for freedom, for dignity, for the simple right to live and love in peace. It speaks to the soul of the book, and to the souls of those who still believe in kindness, in humanity, and in the healing power of hope.

This Day Will Come

Their blood has nourished the soil.

Their spirit shines in the fields that bloom.

The flowers of hope rise from ground once broken,

And the wind will forever carry their songs.

Your heart will ache—and may that ache soften you.

May the great ocean of suffering begin to calm.

May the sun rise and set over a land that is free.

May children roam safely, their laughter filling the air.

One day, new voices will rise.

They will remember the great sacrifices,

And the resilience that held this land when it trembled.

They will cherish this sacred ground,

And the quiet dignity of being their own.

This day will come.

It will come.

Warmly,

Lucy Bear
