True self-love is always present to console our hearts, no matter how overwhelmed or deflated we may feel. True self-love is a selfless response to meeting and embracing ourselves from the inside. Regardless of how conflicted we may feel about ourselves, love is always present to comfort and support us.
When we pause for a deliberate rest and take a few mindful breathes, we create the space and time to relax. In the absence of judgement, the need for validation and the stirring of the inner critique disappears, allowing us to align with clarity in our true essence. The process allows us to take inspired action. By creating space, we can evaluate our commitments and relationships to find a path which best suits each of us.
When we slow down, we begin to take notice of our thoughts and how they impact our moods, behavior, and health. Being connected to our deeper self enables us to be mindful of our own needs, and allows us to focus on the aspects of our life that bring us joy. Rather than living a life driven by others’ expectations, we can respond with wisdom by accepting our own way. We can embrace our mistakes, take responsibility for our actions and shape our best path forward. We can say no to activities, work and interactions that inflame or stress us. Saying NO is powerful, and it simply means you prefer a different outcome. Self-love is more than self-care, it is the realization of our full potential and desires.
Commit to nourishing yourself. Sleep well, exercise, relax, embrace a balanced nutritious diet, and gratify your time with uplifting social interactions. This will set the foundation for a healthy and meaningful life. Once we begin to accept ourselves, we can recognize our strengths and weakness, and truly honor all our qualities. The way you love yourself is how others will learn to love you.
In the timeless words of Persian Poet Rumi:
"Embark on the journey of Love. It'll take you from yourself to your own Self. Love is your steady guide on this road full of hardships. When you seek love with all your heart, You will find its echoes in the universe"
Much Love
